Welcome to Junior Invasives

The Clemson University Invasive Species Program is calling all middle school and high school aged youth to help with the early detection of invasive species in South Carolina! Families, school groups, camps and other organizations can register for the Junior Invasive Inspectors Program. Adult leaders will be given curriculum written for teaching children ages 9-17 about general invasive species awareness, understanding latitude and longitude, recognizing targeted forest pests and symptoms of decline in trees. Clemson will also supply each group of Junior Inspectors with survey backpacks filled with all the supplies needed to conduct field surveys. Reporting will be done on this website. Any reports of suspicious signs and symptoms will be investigated by DPI inspectors. Each participant will get to keep their workbook, jotter pad, and water bottle.

If you would like to learn more about us and our efforts please check out the 'About' page or take a look at this brochure!
